Calling Mankato foster families! (Please Read)
Before our BENCHS clothing fundraiser opens to the public, I’d love to invite teens in foster care, as well as younger foster children who wear adult sizes, to pick out clothing for FREE.
This private shopping opportunity will take place by appointment only at BENCHS, 1250 North River Drive in Mankato.
Our fundraiser will help homeless cats and dogs receive the care they need while they wait for families of their own. We also want to honor children in our community who have experienced uncertainty, transitions, abuse, and the need for a safe place to belong. ❤️
Thanks to our partnership with Plato’s Closet, we have nearly 1,000 name brand clothing items! I’d love for these resilient young people to have the first opportunity to find things they feel comfortable and confident wearing. 👌
I want to offer 30 minute private shopping appointments so each young person can feel like a VIP! They’ll have time to browse, choose their favorites, and enjoy a shopping experience just for them. 🫶🏼
Each child can choose 10 items for FREE, with no cover charge. The child or teen must attend so they can choose their own items. They may come with their foster parent or caregiver, or independently if appropriate.

For everyone else: The Clothing Sale begins on Friday the 23rd from 11-7 PM. The cover charge is $10 per person, each item is $1. All proceeds benefit the shelter! ❤️ (Cash/check/Venmo). I’ll post the flyer in the comments section!
