We encourage healthy and respectful dialogue in this space. While this is a public forum, it is a platform that CADA created and is responsible for. In order to maintain a healthy and supportive space for all (survivors, our community, employees, volunteers, etc.) and we reserve the right to remove comments or ban individuals from our platforms. We encourage dialogue that:
• Speaks from personal experiences or perspectives. Directly calling out or naming individuals or groups without their consent in a potentially harmful way will not be tolerated.
• Is respectful of all individuals and groups. Discriminatory or hateful comments regarding race, gender, ethnicity, religion, gender, ability, sexuality, or comments that violate CADA’s values will not be tolerated.
• Keeps discussions generative, helpful, and informative. Repeated and deliberately disruptive statements meant to hijack comment threads, intimidate others, or derail conversations will not be tolerated. CADA is committed to our own growth as an agency and appreciates both positive and constructive feedback, as long as communication is in line with our guidelines. We are limited in our capacity to address grievances through social media platforms and encourage individuals with a formal grievance to contact our Executive Director.

Recently, Brittany, our Executive Director, graduated from the Greater Mankato Leadership Institute through Greater Mankato Growth!

This leadership development program focused on personal, professional, and community growth. Over the past nine months, these emerging leaders built meaningful connections, strengthened leadership skills, and gained a deeper understanding of the Greater Mankato region and the role they can play in shaping its future. Brittany joined the program with a strong foundation in advocacy, showing up ready to explore new ways to uplift survivor voices and ensure conversations around regional growth and change include survivors and the nonprofits community.

And to make this celebration even MORE special, Brittany's cohort donated over $2,000 to CADA! We are so touched and grateful for this donation! 🥲

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to take a moment to highlight the important roles that both advocates and therapists can play in helping survivors navigate abuse. Understanding the differences between these supports enables survivors to choose the options which best fit their unique situation. Both advocates and therapists can support survivors in many ways. While there is some overlap in services, they each have unique benefits but also limits to what they can offer. Some survivors prefer to work with a therapist while others prefer to work with an advocate, and many survivors may find benefit in working with both!

WOW! We are so amazed by the turnout at our Mankato open house last week! Over the last two months, we have also hosted open houses in our New Ulm, Waseca, and Fairmont offices. It was so fantastic to connect with community partners, donors, and people who are new to our work. It's been great to be able to open our doors, connect with our community, and share about how we support victims and survivors day in and day out. Thank you for showing up and all YOU do to support survivors!

The Keep Me Safe Team is wearing orange for Supervised Visitation Awareness Month. 💛

Please helps us spread awareness by talking with others about this important program. Let them know that Keep Me Safe is here to help by providing a trauma-informed and supportive environment for children to visit with their non-custodial caregiver under supervision. We also facilitate no-contact exchanges of children between caregivers for unsupervised parenting time.
