MCPR thanks the Minnesota Legislature and Gov. Walz for including funding for the 4R Study in the Agriculture and broadband development policy and finance bill, passed on Friday. The bill includes funding for MDA to conduct a study and develop recommendations for establishing an incentive-based program to support and encourage agricultural retailers in promoting 4R nutrient management practices. The 4R nutrient management practices include: the right source of nutrients, at the right rate and right time, in the right place. The 2025 MCPR Annual Golf outing will be held Thursday, August 14 at The Wilds Golf Club in Prior Lake, MN. Registration, lunch, and dinner will be held in the clubhouse. Check-in and lunch will begin at 10 AM. Shotgun start at 11 AM. Dinner and awards/prizes will conclude the event.

MCPR members joined the Agricultural Retailers Association in Washington, D.C. for the annual Legislative Fly-in and Congressional visits Feb. 24-25. The Minnesota delegation met with several representatives and senators about the importance of passing the Farm Bill, potential impacts of tariffs on the agriculture sector, tax policy, transportation and the economic impact of ag retail and the broader ag sector in Minnesota. On March 11, an MCPR delegation will head to St. Paul for their annual Day on the Hill.
