Deep Valley Book Festival The Deep Valley Book Festival gets its name from the setting of the beloved childrenโ€™s books (Betsy-Tacy) written by Mankato-born author Maud Hart Lovelace.

The Festival provides readers the chance to interact with their favorite authors and meet new ones. This FREE family event features authors and illustrators, book sales and signings, book drawings and face painting and prizes for kids.

Minnesota author Kate DiCamillo was in Mankato last week for a book signing (โ€œFerrisโ€ is out now!) and when we mentioned the Betsy-Tacy Society, she said that itโ€™s โ€œbetter than AAAโ€ because no matter where you go, youโ€™ll always find a member of the BTS!
