The Mahkato Powwow leadership would like to make a statement about a recently posted and shared video from Mankato Man at the Reconciliation Park Memorial site. These activities were highly inappropriate and disrespectful to the history of our Mankato community, the Dakota communities, and the relatives and families of the Dakota 38+2. We do not condone this behavior. We also have no association with any of the individuals featured in the video. We want to urge all of our Mankato and Minnesota residents to take time to learn about the history of our land and community. Here's a great digital resource to start with:
