Local Alano Club for the Mankato Area Fifth Ave filed for charitable status in 1975.

The Fifth Avenue Club (Fifth Ave) was established to provide a safe, clean space for AA and Alanon meetings and fellowship activities. The Alano Society of Mankato, Inc., was formed in 1983 to comply with the AA World Services recommendation that AA groups not own property. The Alano Society is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable corporation that owns the building and parking area of Fifth Ave.
