Along with volunteering at the national EAA AirVenture Convention in Oshkosh, we have participated in a number of exciting events including;
- Serving the annual pancake and sausage breakfast during the Thunder on the Lakeshore Air Show. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the company of fellow aviation enthusiasts and to possibly meet some of the air show performers.
- Hosting the Red Star
Pilot’s Association formation flying clinic and the T-34 Mentors prior to AirVenture for their participation in the military formation flights during the convention’s air show.
- Being very involved in the EAA Young Eagles Program. This program allows young people, ages 8-17 the opportunity to experience the thrill of flying in a light airplane. Our members are always willing to share their experiences and enthusiasm towards flying with these future pilots.
- Participating in the Taking Flight summer school program offered by the Manitowoc Public School District for kids in 4th through 8th grade.
- Fly-outs, chili lunches, and our annual September corn roast. Meetings are held in our clubhouse at the Chapter hangar ( #22) at the Manitowoc County Airport on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. and guests are always welcome. Our historic silver dome-shaped hangar, which used to be located at the south end of the airport, was the first corporate hangar at the airport, and it housed aircraft belonging to the Rahr Malting Corporation. If you are interested in joining and participating in our activities, please talk to a member or visit us during one of our meetings.
