Our Walleye Wagon had great success on the first day

69 degrees, full sun with a light breeze.. I don't remember what water temp was- that should be written down in the hatchery though.
We spawned 91 walleyes last night -32 females and 59 males.

Including the fish spawned, we took DNA samples from 110 fish. The 19 fish that we did not spawn were between 8" - 12.5" in length and the s*x was unidentified- these could potentially be walleyes that were from our hatchery in previous years.

85 Hard Females were netted and returned to the spawning beds.
We collected an additional 56 male walleye that were not used and were also returned to their spawning grounds.

We handled 251 walleyes last night in total.

Thank You volunteers !!!
We couldn’t do it without you!!
