⭐CALL FOR ART!⭐

Cottonwood Center for the Arts (CCA) in partnership with the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (COPPR) is thrilled to present a call for entries for an exhibition opening September 2026 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of COPPR, underwritten by Herman Tiemens.

This project is designed to foster a deeper connection between local creative organizations and local creatives, to benefit our community at large. As inspiration for this call, COPPR and Herman Tiemens selected a diverse spectrum of creative brands from our community as subject matter. We are asking artists to create artworks honoring the ethos and unique character of their chosen organization(s), highlighting their vital role in our region’s cultural identity. Artists can submit one artwork per chosen organization.

EXHIBITION DATES:

October 3—December 31: Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region

🚧 This week, you might notice 2 mosaic panels missing from the Marcy Morrison Bridge on Becker’s Lane between Manitou Avenue and El Paso Blvd. CRANE is beginning some restoration work on the artwork, which has been affected by temperature extremes. The repair, which will be complete in April or May (depending on weather), will provide long-term stabilization of the art piece.🌻

Starting on February 17, 2026 the Lunar New Year begins the year of the Fire Horse. It is viewed as a year of optimism and opportunity. It is a time in China when people clean their homes to make way for good luck and celebrate the holiday with a reunion dinner with family members. In Chinese culture, the Horse is known for its energetic and dynamic nature. The Art Festival poster image will be a horse that is ready to paint some art.

You know that feeling when you learn about a woman from history and think,
How did I not know this?

Yeah. Same.

So we’re doing something about it. The Women’s Freedom Museum is launching its first 20 outdoor exhibitions in Manitou Springs - small museum boxes in public space, each one spotlighting a woman whose impact helped shape the world.

Yep. That’s happening.

We’re inviting artists with a connection to Manitou Springs to help turn those stories into art that makes people stop mid-walk.

Come make history with us.
