A Walk to Remember - Manistee

A Walk to Remember - Manistee There is no foot too small to leave an imprint on this world. On Saturday, October 1, 2011 we will be honoring those babies with a Walk to Remember.

** Event Schedule **
12:30-1:00 Registration
1:00-1:30 Memorial Celebration
1:30-2:15 The Walk
2:15-2:45 Infant Name Release

October is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month to remember the 1.5 million babies that die each year, through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth and newborn death. Since 1988, many perinatal loss groups across the country have taken the opportunity

during this beautiful fall month to pause. remember and to honor the precious babies whose short lives have touched the hearts and lives of their parents, families and friends. At this time, we are organizing a Walk right here in Manistee, MI. Walkers are encouraged to wear t-shirts commemorating their precious infants. T-shirts with the Walk to Remember logo will also be available for purchase. We would also like to remember each infant by acknowledging them individually. Their names will be read as each family releases their balloon(s). On Saturday, June 11, 2011, my daughter, Katie lost her baby, Lucy, at birth at Metro Hospital in Grand Rapids. Her loss brought back so many memories of the three babies I lost years ago. At that time, it was customary to protect the mother by whisking the baby away. Fortunately, so much has changed since then. Katie and her husband, Paul, were allowed to spend as much time as needed to hold and love their daughter. The hospital staff was kind and caring with the entire grieving family. The Walk is designed to raise public awareness to ensure all families receive the same sensitivity we received at this most difficult time. Seems most everyone has a story to tell about their own experience or that of someone they love with the loss of an infant. The Walk is open to everyone so please pass on this information. More information will follow as event plans are organized. With warm regards,
Rogene Fischer

Day 11: Life is Short

Capture Your Grief | Day 11 | Life Is Short |

Please feel welcome to share your Day 11 photographs and experiences here in the comments section of this post.

Life is short and don't we know it.

Tomorrow is not guaranteed to any of us. Death can come at any time and often without warning. It does not discriminate. That is a brutal reality. Nothing helps to take away my fear of losing another child or friend or family member. Nothing. Lightening can strike twice, even more than that. So I surrender to the fact that I have very little control over anything and I try to live my life so that if heaven forbid that death takes another loved one away from me, I will have no regrets. My loved ones know how much I love them. And it isn't about telling them that you love them, it is about showing them.

Acts speak louder than words so make them full of love.

Capture Your Grief | Day 9 | Clear + Let Go |

Please feel welcome to share your Day 9 photographs in the comments section of this post.

I didn't clear any space in our home today becauseI have spent close to a year clearing our home. From every drawer, to every shelf, to all the stuff we collected in our garage.

I have cleared everything except for Christian's memory chest. I will never let go of anything in there. It is strange though, as nothing in that chest brings me any joy. But they are memories and that is all we have left. If I lose those, I feel I will lose him from my heart, not just my arms. I fear forgetting him.

I spent years collecting stuff that had nothing to do with Christian. I don't know why we had so much in our house. Maybe on some level it was a coping mechanism or a distraction from the grief. It didn't distract me or heal me or help me and once I came to that realization, I was able to let go of a lot. I actually found joy in that.

Please click on the link above to see the entire project. I would be forever grateful if you could share this project with your loved ones and support groups so that we can let as many people know as possible. That way we can hopefully minimize the number of people who come to my page after the project ends with the comment "I wish I had of known about this!!!"

This Sunday at sunrise (Perth time) I will be doing a live facebook video to begin our month of kindness and compassion.

I would like to thank everyone for their patience. I really appreciate all of your well wishes and love.

Wishing you all a beautiful day/night.

With heart,

CarlyMarie

One of the ways I hope we can come together as an online community. If you have not seen the amazing artwork honoring babies gone too soon, check out her website, Carly Marie Project Heal (link in comments). Each year during the month of October she has a daily theme, a way of sharing what your grief and healing looks like. I will share as she publishes ❤

Capture Your Grief for 2017 launches in 24 hours time... All shall be revealed then ❤️ I cannot wait to share it with you all ❤️

Several people have inquired about the Walk to Remember. Unfortunately, I was not able to schedule a walk this year. I will be active on this page throughout October for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, and have a virtual Wave of Light on October 15. Thank you for your understanding and I hope we can continue to be a support for each other on this group

Remebering all our babies gone too soon. Peace and love to the grieving families

How are we going to do it?  How will we get through this holiday called Christmas when child loss has occurred?  Our hearts are broken.  We feel so desolate and alone.  We don't have the energy to face the day, and yet..........we know we want to do something other than cry the entire day.  We feel…
