Join us for Film Club tonight starting at 7 PM 🎬

As part of Switch Wicked’s anniversary week celebration, this special edition of Film Club will feature a screening of the 2004 award-winning documentary Wamego: Making Movies Anywhere, which follows the Balderson family in Wamego, Kansas. Directed by Steve Balderson, the film highlights how meaningful and creative work can be made right here in your own community.

After the film, we will be joined by Clark Balderson, producer and father of writer/director Steve Balderson, for a talk and Q&A.

Switch Wicked’s 5th anniversary is here, and throughout the week, we will be raising funds for Switch Wicked Studios. While Switch Wicked operates as an independent small business, Switch Wicked Studios is a separate community-focused nonprofit initiative dedicated to providing accessible creative space, programming, and resources for artists, makers, and creatives in Manhattan.

Over time, the studio has grown into a home for Film Club, craft nights, workshops, art markets, and community gatherings. With all of these great uses for the space, we are beginning to outgrow our current setup and feel some limitations as these events continue to expand. Help us reach our fundraising goal of $5,000!

Join us tonight for After Hours Jam Night at Switch Wicked Studios, a chill and beginner-friendly acoustic jam hosted by the Mighty Fine Jam Crew. We’ll have lyrics and chords projected so everyone can follow along, no matter your skill level. Free and open to all ages. Acoustic instruments only, so bring one if you’ve got it!

Switch Wicked Studios is more than just a space for 2D artists. 🎈✨

Event Answer has been using the studio each week to create balloon art, film videos for their YouTube channel, and even host livestream sessions.

“We use Switch Wicked as our filming studio for a couple of hours each week. We needed a space larger than our living room to film in, but we don’t need an entire studio for ourselves yet. Switch Wicked is the perfect next step for us. It gives us more space to create with quicker set-up times, in a cost-effective way for our business. Plus, it is so fun working downtown with the amazingly creative team at Switch Wicked.”
