We're excited to share that Marie Wright has officially earned her Veterinary Assistant Certification through the Texas A&M Veterinary Science Certificate Program. She is the first person from our animal science program to complete this credential, which required over 200 hours of classroom instruction in animal science, more than 225 clinical hours completed at Animal Medical Center in Chanute, demonstrating 100 skills in veterinary medicine, and passing an exam. Congratulations, Marie, and we wish you all the best as you head to K-State to start your pre-vet program!

The final day of the 98th Kansas FFA Convention saw numerous Chanute FFA members recognized for their accomplishments!

At the 5th Session on Friday, Chanute FFA was recognized as a Gold Level chapter, the highest category a chapter can be awarded. Max Hendrickson was awarded the Reinhardt Family Scholarship here as well.

During the 6th Session, 11 Chanute FFA members were awarded the State FFA Degree, the most of any chapter in the state! This is the highest degree our state can bestow on its members. Receiving the State FFA Degree were: Luke Bowman, Kiley Dillow, Max Hendrickson, Kayci Raida, Autumn Waggoner, Mylee Miller, Karter Naff, Tyler Kepley, Drake Schulz, Marie Wright, and Presley Henson.

The final session saw Max Hendrickson recognized at the Southeast District Star in Agricultural Placement and a finalist for the State Star award.

This convention has been one to remember and we are proud of the hard work and dedication it took throughout the year to earn all these accomplishments. Thank you to all our parents and supporters who help make Chanute FFA possible!

Much like the original Founding Fathers, the Chanute Founding FFAthers were outmatched at the beginning of the Revolutionary War (AKA: the annual Kansas FFA Alumni Dodgeball Tournament), accumulating a measly 0-4 record to begin. However, the Delaware must’ve froze over, as they ended with two strong wins in the end - including some SportsCenter Top 10 highlight worthy plays against the Red Coats (AKA: Uniontown) from George Washington (AKA: Mylee Miller).

While we didn’t dominate on the Dodgeball court tonight, the Founding FFAthers did take home first place in the Dodgeball Team Costume Contest!

Chanute FFA Members are attending the 98th Kansas FFA Convention this week! Over 2,000 blue jackets have flooded the K-State campus in Manhattan to grow their leadership skills, network with industry professionals and fellow members, and be recognized for various accomplishments.

Highlights so far:

Agriscience Fair
⭐️ STATE WINNER in Social Systems! - Mylee Miller and Presley Henson. Their research project will advance to the national competition in Indianapolis.
⭐️ STATE RUNNER UP in Social Systems- Jayla Dunivin and Kayci Raida
⭐️ STATE RUNNER UP in Food Products and Processing Systems- Ty Kepley and TJ Cash

SAE Grant Recipient
⭐️ Autumn Waggoner received a National FFA SAE Grant
