September is Hunger Action Month! This marks the 19th year since this month of advocacy began, raising awareness about food insecurity and encouraging communities to take action.

This month, we’re asking our community to support FHBB by donating, volunteering with our outreach team, and learning more about food insecurity.

Community Connections will go live Monday 8/17! This new program at FHBB will connect our guests to other local organizations with the resources people need beyond food. This could be financial assistance, dental, medical, job help and more.

Guests will be able to have a meeting with one of our team members who will help them find the program(s) they may qualify for and support them as they take their next steps.

Did you know we also have hygiene items for our guests to choose from? Now you do!

We do our best to keep our shelves stocked with everyday essentials like toilet paper, laundry detergent, toothbrushes, menstrual products, and more so our guests have access to the items they need to stay healthy and care for themselves.

If you're at the store over the next week, pick up some of these items and donate them to FHBB!

What does hard work and dedication look like? Our team of volunteers.

Every day, our volunteers keep FHBB running by working with guests, picking up food from local grocery stores, delivering to partners, sorting incoming food and stocking The Market. They are how we were able to serve 3,595 visits in July and keep healthy food accessible in our community.

Happy Monday! There will be a Harvesters - The Community Food Network mobile food distribution this Friday 8/7, 10-11am at Westview Community Church (615 Gillespie Drive)

Come see us at Everybody Counts - Manhattan tomorrow (Saturday 8/1) from 9am-12pm! Get connected with us and other organizations at booths with information, services and volunteer opportunities.

There will also be:
-Free health screenings
-Basic preventative veterinary care for cats and dogs (Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine)
-10am Free community brunch (Hy-Vee)
-11am Food distribution (Harvesters - The Community Food Network)
-Clothing distribution
-Fun activities for children and families
