Over the years so many family and friends have helped heal our hearts with love and support in honoring Colgin. For that, and so much more, we say "Thank You."

It's hard to believe that Colgin would be a senior in high school and graduating this May. To honor his name, we are establishing a scholarship at Manhattan High School open to students in the Class of 2019. Requirements would be an area of study in the medical field, specifically pediatric care or area of study in grief counseling/family studies as a result of the loss of a family member. This is our goal this year.

We are working with the Manhattan Ogden Public Schools Foundation to finalize things. Our contact person there is Jim Morrison.

If you'd like to donate to Colgin's scholarship, please contact Jim Morrison ASAP, as they are confirming scholarships now. His email is [email protected] or 785-776-9209.

Any donations made to the Manhattan Ogden Public Schools Foundation can be made by April 20.

The scholarship awards ceremony night will be May 6th at 7pm.

Thank you Lohman family for your generous donation! We received 16 brand new bassinets (one for each mother/baby room) in memory of their son, Colgin. The streamlined cribs allow new moms and nurses to stay close and easily and safely access babies. Over the years, the Lohmans have donated more than $100,000 to Via Christi's Birth & Women's Center!!

We received a message on Wednesday from a local pediatrician that made our hearts happy. He happily reported that he saw the new bassinets up in the nursery. He wasn't sure when they'll be in full use, but he said everyone LOVES them. The old ones made for such a bumpy ride down the carpet, but these new ones have nice big wheels for a smooth ride. So many will benefit without even knowing it.

We are so grateful for the Lohman family. They visited Via Christi Hospital this afternoon to donate more than $20,000, which was raised during their charity golf tournament held in memory of their son, Colgin Tanner Lohman (who would have been 15 this year). The donation will go to our Birth & Women's Center to buy new cribs for the unit. Thank you so much to the Lohmans —Chad, Kris, Campbell and Cooper. Your generosity will touch many!

We are back from a wonderful vacation and ready to announce the results from Colgin’s weekend of events. Drum roll please!!!! The grand total raised is $24,155. We are overjoyed at the outpouring of support and generosity from so many wonderful friends and family. We could not have done it without all of you.

The dinner event at Liquid Art Winery had 100 attendees. We enjoyed a delicious dinner of bbq pork, mac-n-cheese, coleslaw, and the dessert options were endless. A big “Thank You” to Mark Knackendoffel, Harry’s Deli, Little Apple Brewing Company, and Kat’s Confections for donating the meal items. The beverage selection was abundant thanks to Tallgrass Brewing Company, Crane Brewing, and Nespor's Wine & Spirits. The silent and live auction items were well received. There was something for everyone. Dave Lewis Entertainment did an amazing job as mc and auctioneer. Also, a shout out to Brady Moddelmog and Brian Nelson for wrapping up the evening with some live music and dancing. That evening of events raised $17,245.

The golf tournament at Wamego Country Club golf course had 62 players celebrating Colgin’s 15th birthday and Father’s Day with us. We had many giveaways, prizes, and raffle items to hand out. Every player went home with lots of great stuff. That day of events raised $2,685.

We also received many monetary donations from people near and far. For your kindness, we say “Thank You.” Donations received raised $4,225.

Our hearts are so very happy at this opportunity to provide these funds to the Mercy Community Health Foundation with the purpose of purchasing new cribs in the Pediatric Unit. These funds will provide for 20 new cribs. This is a great feeling to know these funds will impact so many people.

We are truly blessed to have so many wonderfully generous people in our life. Colgin's weekend of events could not have gone better. It was a whirlwind weekend, but we wouldn't want it any other way. We felt so honored to have many returning participants to both the dinner and golf, after having taken five years off since our last event. Also, what a joy to see many new faces we've met along the way. We hope everyone had as wonderful time as we did. Again, we say "thank you" to each of you for all the support, love, and generosity shown in memory of Colgin. We are off to enjoy some vacation time, but once we return we'll post the results of the weekend. I can tell you this, the Pediatric Unit at Via Christi Hospital will be able to purchase MANY new cribs. ❤
