2027 Application is open.

Bear Hug Cattle Company is a 10-week summer internship for veterans who want to build a life in agriculture. Starting June 2027, you’ll learn horsemanship from the ground up, help run our cow-calf pairs, and work alongside some of the best ranches in the West.

No ranch background? Good. Most of us didn’t have one either. We’re looking for drive, humility, and someone who can’t stop thinking about this life.

Spots are very limited, and we get a lot of applications every year. Don’t wait.

The next round of applications will be opening soon.

What is BHCC?
"Bear Hug Cattle Company is a 501c3 non-profit that provides vocational training to veterans pursuing a career in the ranching industry. Our goal at Bear Hug Cattle Company is to provide veterans with the opportunity and skill necessary to get their first job in the ranching industry. This program is free of cost to veterans - all donations go directly to sponsoring participants."

If you are a U.S veteran looking for your next chapter, this could be it. We hand select a limited number of applicants to attend our summer internship. 10 weeks of on site hands on learning as you work your way into the ranching industry.

Application link will be posted once it is live.

If youd like to donate to the BHCC program, please visit our website (link in bio)

Moments from an early morning mountain gather

Ropes were donated this year by Cordell Hatch of Hatch Tack. We are so thankful for their generous donation. These ropes have already been put to good use and will continue to outfit our interns for the remainder of our program.
