Created in 2007, the New York cluster of EUNIC, bringing together around 40 cultural missions from the European Union, is working in partnership to strengthen the transatlantic dialogue and cultural cooperation and showcase European values and creativity. EUNIC – European Union National Institutes for Culture – is the European network of

organizations working in 90 countries worldwide through a network of 125 clusters and acting as a platform for promoting European values, sharing knowledge, building capacity amongst its members and partners, and engaging local partners in dialogue and common cultural projects. Created in 2007, the New York cluster of EUNIC, bringing together around 40 cultural institutes, general consulates and cultural missions from the countries of European Union, is working together with NYC and American partners to promote cultural diversity and understanding; strengthen the transatlantic dialogue and cultural cooperation; conduct research and share best practices; showcase European values and creativity in the arts, creative industries, development cooperation, digitalization, education, gender, heritage, human rights, language and multilingualism, social inclusion, sports, sustainability, tourism, youth, and others. The current leadership of EUNIC New York is provided by Miroslav Konvalina (director, Czech Cultural Center) as President, Dorian Branea (director, Romanian Cultural Institute) as Vice President, Jaanika Peerna (Consulate General of Estonia in NY) as Vice President, and Michael Haider (director, Austrian Cultural Forum), as outgoing President.

The 92nd EUNIC New York Cluster meeting was hosted by the Consulado Geral de Portugal em Nova Iorque, on March, 20th at 4pm.

All the members who attended in person or online were welcomed by the Consul General of Portugal, Ambassador Luisa Pais-Lowe, and, among other matters, had the opportunity to discuss the incoming projects and activities for 2025.

A very productive meeting allowed members to share ideas, projects, update the cluster and prepare new and meaningful project for this and the following years.
