Service dog prospects from the "Shine On" cohort are ready to move into their puppy-raising homes.

Meet Penny and Ray! 12 week old female golden retriever puppies.

Do you want to be a puppy raiser?
Puppy raisers commit to fostering a service dog prospect in your home for the first year of it's life. The goal is to teach the puppy about every day life at your home and in public while providing daily training according to MuttSchool's guidelines. Puppies attend MuttSchool's group classes and DaySchool twice a week. MuttCare provides insurance to cover veterinary costs. You will be responsible for all other costs of caring for the puppy. Talk to your accountant because most expenses you incur are tax-deductible. Puppy raisers must live within 30 minutes of our Manhattan training center. This is a great opportunity for 4Hers, people that want a companion without a 15-year commitment or anyone interested in training dogs. We prefer puppy raisers without other dogs in the home but we will consider homes with calm dogs that we meet and approve. Contact us at [email protected] for an application.
