Today marked the successful commencement of our Gender Sensitivity Training for law enforcement agents across Southwest Nigeria.

The first day focused on fostering meaningful conversations around gender sensitivity, human rights, inclusion, professionalism, and the critical role security actors play in building safer and more equitable communities. Participants actively engaged in discussions, shared experiences, challenged perspectives, and explored practical approaches to promoting respect, dignity, and non-discrimination in their daily interactions and service delivery.

The energy in the room reflected a collective willingness to learn, unlearn, and strengthen capacity for more inclusive community engagement.

As we reflect on the insights gained and connections built today, we look forward to the conversations, learning opportunities, and collaborative action that the coming days will bring.

Here are a few moments from Day 1.

While we celebrate Children’s Day, many Nigerian children are still living in fear instead of freedom.
From Chibok to countless communities across the country, children continue to face abduction, violence, and insecurity…with many still missing and countless futures disrupted. UNICEF reports that years after the Chibok abduction, children in Nigeria are still being kidnapped, harmed, and denied the safety every child deserves.

Today is more than a celebration. It is a reminder that every child deserves protection, education, peace, and the right to dream without fear.

At Happiest Ones Health Support and Rights Initiative, we stand for a Nigeria where children are safe, heard, protected, and given the opportunity to thrive. 💜

Happy Children’s Day to every child may your future never be stolen.”

HANTAVIRUS: KNOW THE FACTS. PROTECT YOURSELF.

Hantavirus is a rare but serious virus spread mainly through contact with infected rodents, their urine, droppings, or saliva. Awareness and proper hygiene can help reduce the risk of infection.

🦠 HOW IT SPREADS
• Breathing contaminated air particles
• Touching contaminated surfaces
• Exposure to rodent-infested areas
• Rarely, through rodent bites

🛡️ HOW TO PREVENT IT
✔ Keep your environment clean
✔ Seal holes and entry points in homes
✔ Store food properly
✔ Avoid sweeping dry rodent droppings
✔ Wear gloves and masks when cleaning affected areas

Early symptoms may include fever, headaches, muscle aches, chills, and fatigue. Seek medical attention if symptoms appear after rodent exposure.

Your health matters. Stay informed. Stay protected. 💙✨

As part of the ongoing Online HIV Self-Test (HIVST) Kit Delivery Project, HOHSRI continues to expand access to confidential, community-based HIV testing while strengthening systems for effective service delivery.

In line with our commitment to data quality assurance, accountability, and program effectiveness, we hosted the HALG team for a 3-day Project Data Review and Assessment visit.

The visit focused on reviewing implementation processes, validating data, assessing performance indicators, and strengthening reporting systems to ensure accuracy, transparency, and improved outcomes across all service points.

This engagement reinforces our dedication to not just delivering services, but ensuring that every intervention is data-driven, impactful, and aligned with best practices.
