Manhattan Beach is applying a w**d killer to its city streets under extremely windy conditions. Following is an explanation from Stephanie Katsouleas, Director of Public Works

“...The application you referenced below is actually not paint, but rather an organic week (sic) killer with dye that we’re using in preparation for the upcoming slurry seal project. Please do not hose it down as we need it to take effect over the next 14 days. The dye should fade or can be hosed off after the slurry seal project is complete. Please let me know once the project is completed if you have any trouble getting off whatever is left and we’ll figure out how we can help.

From CMB Public Works Director
Stephanie Katsouleas “

This reply does not specify what type of pesticide has to “take effect over the next 14 days “.
