Shanah Tovah u'Metukah from all of us at Shalem.
This week our littlest ones stood in front of the open ark, kippot on, and looked up. They heard the shofar. They found the star hiding inside an apple. They dipped their fingers in honey and asked for more. They read Rosh Hashanah Is Coming! for the fourth time and did not mind one bit.
This is how a new year begins at Shalem. Not with a lesson, but with wonder.
Tonight the sun sets and 5787 begins. To every family who trusts us with their children, to our teachers, to our board, to the friends and neighbors who helped us rebuild this year: may you be written and sealed for a sweet, whole, and healthy year.
May this be a year of curiosity, kindness, and enough honey to go around.
Shanah Tovah.
