Leadership Manhattan Beach (LMB) develops community leaders through a nine-month long training program that exposes class members to different segments of the community as well as leadership development opportunities. The capstone to the class experience is a class project: something real to benefit the Manhattan Beach community. Leadership Manhattan Beach Class of 2011 has raised funds to purcha

se and install bike racks throughout Manhattan Beach as a means to improve the health and well-being of its citizens. The 23 members of LMB 2011 believe that providing improved bike parking in popular and well-located areas in town will encourage more people to ride bikes to areas they would typically drive. Every year a LMB class selects a project for the benefit of Manhattan Beach that is planned and executed from January through May.

Come tell us what you think of the bike plan and learn from the South Bay Bicycle Coalition about next steps! Want to personally invite everyone to get on your bike and ride from 45th street to the pier on Saturday to participate in the Class of 2011 unveiling of their bike project. We leave at 2:30. This class really provided something of value to the city and I want to congratulate them on a job well done.
