T-minus 2 weeks until the costume contest! 👻🎃

We're excited to host our third annual Halloween Pet Costume Contest! Here’s how to join in:

1. Follow us on social media. Ensure you're following Old Blue, Inc. on both Instagram AND Facebook to be eligible.

2. Submit your pet’s photo: Snap a picture of your pet(s) dressed up in their Halloween costume and submit it to us along with their name by October 30th.

3. Feeling extra spooky? If you're really in the Halloween spirit, consider donating to Old Blue, Inc. on Halloween. Every little bit helps!

4. Voting: From October 26 to October 30th, we'll post photos of all our fabulous contestants across our Instagram and Facebook stories. Throughout the week, vote for your favorite pet by liking and engaging with the posts.

5. The winner will be announced on Halloween at 12:30 pm PST. The pet with the most votes will be featured on Old Blue's pages as well as win a $50 e-gift card to PetSmart!

Best of luck to all contestants. Submissions start NOW!

💙🐾 TWO SENIORS, TWO SPECIAL SOULS, AND TWO CHANCES AT A FOREVER HOME!

Meet our latest Old Blue Inc. sweethearts, Raiden and Nala ! We had the pleasure of taking these two precious seniors to Bay Animal Hospital for their Senior Wellness Exams, and we are now awaiting their lab results.

🐾 RAIDEN | 8 years young

This handsome American Bully came into the shelter as a stray, but his past certainly hasn’t dimmed his spirit! Raiden is a complete lovebug and goofball who will steal your heart in seconds. ❤️

Raiden is believed to be mostly blind, but you would never know it from his happy personality! He doesn’t let his vision slow him down or stop him from enjoying life. This sweet boy deserves a family who will love him just as he is!

🐾 NALA | 13 years young

Our sweet little senior lady! Nala is a quiet, gentle Terrier who asks for so little and deserves so much. She has some hair loss, possibly due to a flea allergy, but that doesn’t take away from how beautiful she is. At 13 years old, Nala deserves a soft bed, a loving family, and the comfort of knowing she’s finally home. ❤️

Both dogs did wonderfully during their vet visit and were perfectly comfortable sharing space together!

Raiden and Nala are BOTH available for adoption at Carson Animal Care Center DACC! Please help us find these two seniors the loving homes they deserve. They have so much love left to give, and we don’t want them spending their golden years in a shelter.

September is Animal Pain Awareness Month.

Our pets can't always tell us when something hurts, but changes in their behavior can be important clues. Decreased activity, reluctance to jump, changes in appetite, difficulty standing, or excessive grooming may all be signs that your pet is experiencing pain.

If you notice something unusual, don't ignore it. Talk to your veterinarian to help your pet get the care they need.

We honor the first responders who risked their lives on September 11, 2001. Their bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the 300 incredible search and rescue dogs, like Bretagne, a golden retriever; Trackr, a German Shepherd; and Riley, another golden retriever—who tirelessly searched for victims at the World Trade Center. Their loyalty, resilience, and compassion provided hope in the darkest of times.

We will never forget their courage, dedication, and sacrifice. 🇺🇸🐾
