Dear North Strathmore Residents and Friends,

Please join us at the Onderdonk House for two essential community training sessions hosted by Legislator Mazi M. Pilip and Nassau County representatives.

On Wednesday, October 23 at 1:00 p.m., a representative from Nassau County will hold a Scam Awareness Training to help you identify common scams and protect your personal information. Please RSVP by Monday, October 21.

On Tuesday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m., the County invites you to a Narcan Training Session to learn how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and properly administer Narcan (naloxone) to save lives. Please RSVP by Sunday, November 10.

These sessions are designed to aid residents in learning more about community safety and well-being, and we look forward to welcoming you.

Both events are free, and materials will be provided. These events are not limited to residents of North Strathmore, but space is limited,

All North Strathmore residents, please see an important announcement below:

Proposed conversion of former Lord & Taylor to an NYU-Langone Health ambulatory care center

A parking variance is required for 596 parking spaces – about 100 spaces more than currently provided.

Traffic is expected to be consistent and concentrated on weekday mornings and afternoons.

This proposal will negatively impact the adjacent residential areas with increased traffic in an already congested area.

Residents can object to the applicant’s request for a variance regarding parking spaces.

On Saturday, October 15th, the Manhasset Mothers Group hosted their annual fall festival at the Onderdonk House. The day featured many fun activities including pony wagon rides, face painting, and crafts!

Barbara Grieser Cardito Pino captured some beautiful pictures of the day!

All children attending the April 9th "Spring has Sprung" event will have the opportunity to create and accessorize their very own bonnet or top hat!

Traditionally, bonnets and top hats were a way to celebrate Easter and Spring. The bonnet originated as a European tradition where people would wear new clothes and hats to celebrate the coming of spring and meaning of Easter.
