Recycling is a big part of Love the Boot Week, and this year, 9,870 plastic bottles and aluminum cans from 19 parishes were diverted from the landfill and recycled! ♻️

This recycling effort was made possible through a sponsorship from Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola has been a top sponsor of Love the Boot Week for four years, and we are grateful for their ongoing support and dedication to closed-loop recycling.

Thank you to Osprey Initiative for facilitating Love the Boot recycling!

Today is National Secure Your Load Day! Properly securing your load contributes to safer, cleaner roads.

Follow these tips to ensure you properly secure your cargo:
✔️ Tie cargo down with rope, netting, or straps.
✔️ Tie large objects directly to your vehicle or trailer.
✔️ Consider covering the entire load with a sturdy tarp or netting.
✔️ Don’t overload your vehicle or trailer.
✔️ Always double-check your load to make sure it’s secure.

Roadside littering can be reported by calling 855-LA-Litter. You can also report online at KeepLouisianaBeautiful.org. Please share the person’s plate information, vehicle make, and the location where the littering took place.

Do your part to prevent roadside litter, which can cause crashes, traffic delays, injuries, and fatalities.
