We are bridging the gap of wrestlers of all ages by training young children, developing junior high and high school state champions and continuing the wrestling legacy beyond high school. These goals are achieved by offering year-round wrestling classes for grades K-12, private lessons, and clinics and camps. This organization provides opportunities for wrestlers of various ages and schools to ch

allenge their athletic abilities, strengthen their character, and develop into strong leaders in the community.

Thank you Louisiana Wrestling for an enjoyable tournament. Mark Moreau, the Maha Family and a ton of volunteers worked real hard to complete this Dickensesque tournament. I can't believe they accomplished so much in just 1 day. Let's do it again next year, I had fun.

In the 50+ years of my involvement in this sport, I don't think that I have worked with a better group of adults as I have this year. The coaches and parents have been there to support the wrestlers in every sort of situation, good and bad.

But it is not just the things that they do that makes them a special group. It is also the things that they don't do. I have not heard one word of negative comment from any parent directed towards the coaches, wrestlers, referees or opponents.

I just want to tell everyone, your excellence as fans and parents has been noted.

I should also note some exceptionality from the wrestlers as well. The Academy services the state wrestling programs and we have had wrestlers from 12 different programs come through our doors. They are all welcome.

But not only does the staff support the wrestlers, but each wrestler also supported those wrestlers that worked out with them. Evry wrestler with the program has sat mat side and cheered for his Academy mate (as long as he didn't wrestle his school teammate. It has been a while since I have seen this kind of sportsmanship.

At the state finals, all the schools represented by Academy were cheering on the boys they had met and made friends with. I was a pleasure to sit amongst them.

I had a great time watching the State Championship Tournament.

But $75 to prepay for tickets and another $24 for parking is absurd. There was no way to buy 2 sessions at the same time so one would have to pay twice the fees. Perhaps the LHSAA should allow each school to have access to tickets, limit each school to 200 tickets, this would be 20,000 potential tickets for the LHSAA and the schools can get a share, like in football. The LHSAA doesn't get any of the extra fees added on and by sharing the ticket revenue it may help the schools with serious money problems. $150 a hotel room a night for three nights still comes to over $100 each for the wrestlers. Additionally, the parents are paying for their rooms.

What do the football, basketball, volleyball, softball and baseball teams have to pay for their entry fee into their Championships? The Bossier Sports Commission paid for the facilities. Roughly 5000 tickets sold? $30 without fees, $150000 for tickets, 30 officials at $400 a piece, $12000. Why are the schools charged an entry fee?

If you have a comment on this post, please only use genteel language as my last complaining post had all the comments hidden because there was "objectional" language used.

Just looking at the results from the Junior Varsity State Championship. I can't understand the structure of the brackets set up. Without a seeding, the decision to not have true wrestlebacks, seems unfair. Then the decision to cancel the consolation rounds and effectively end the tournament prematurely also seems a bit unfair. These decisions make the tournament look simply like a fundraiser under the guise of the name "Junior Varsity State Championship". I don't think this was under USAWrestling's sanction, was it? We have to do better. So, I guess to have a true Junior Varsity State Championship, we need to wait until the Kid's State in Baton Rouge in March.

A great way to spend a Sund morning. The Folks at Eagle wrestling put on another great tournament. The wrestling amongst the younger wrestlers continues to improve through out the state.

A really enjoyable Sunday morning. The folks at Live Oak put on another great tournament, Thanks Guys!

It is nice to see that the younger wrestlers across the state are continuing to improve their techniques.

A special congratulations to the Academy boys who are a real pleasure to coach. Win or lose they are gentlemen and good sportsmen. That comes from having concerned parents who encourage that behavior. Thank you families for supporting the wrestlers and teaching them manners.

Good Job and attaboys go out to Cameron Brown, Ari Wilson Judah Wilson, who wrestled in their first folkstyle tournament. Noah Auberle continues to improve. Harrison Cambre won 3 matches in placing 3rdd in his first evet wrestling tournament. The biggest surprise of the tournament was Mike Mammadov who won a 19-3 tech fal and pin in the finals of his first evet wrestling tournament.

I almost forgot to our special friends, Aidan Krass (3rd), Lucas Meneckshaw (1st), Jesse Menneshaw (3rd), Ian Williams (1st) and Leeland Webb (1st), who place in their tournaments today. As well as Ty Webb who represented St. Aug well in the Catholic District duals and Vinnie Vudacovich 3-1 and Sebatian Vidacovich 4 - 0.
