This National Senior Corps Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) offers volunteers age 55 and older the opportunity to use their skills and life experiences to help meet critical needs across St. Tammany Parish. Volunteers are needed to tutor/mentor both children and adults, assist in area hospitals, provide transportation for seniors to medical appointments, work with animals, help at senior living facilities, work in local food banks and resale stores, help vicitms of domestic violence, and much more. Volunteers work at their own pace as their schedule allows. Some volunteer on a daily or weekly basis, while others may volunteer just for special events.
Volunteers of America’s RSVP program is very unique in that we place our volunteers at local non-profits and healthcare facilities across St. Tammany Parish. Serving as a One-Stop Volunteer Site, individuals interested in volunteering can learn about the wide array of volunteer opportunities during their meeting with the RSVP Director.
