Distinguished Young Women of Louisiana DYW is a free program that encourages high school girls to reach their full potential by offering scholarships and life skill workshops. Any questions?

Welcome to the Distinguished Young Women of Louisiana page! Our program awards college scholarships to young women who have distinguished themselves at school and in their communities. It is our goal to provide a wonderful experience to every eligible young woman in Louisiana. Those who participate in the program develop interview skills, self-confidence and other life skills that lead to

future success. Our state competition takes place in Mandeville, Louisiana. Participants compete in these categories: scholastics, fitness, self-expression, talent and interview. A panel of five judges select a Distinguished Young Woman of Louisiana each year. Contestants from all 50 states travel to the historic port city of Mobile, Alabama, for the Distinguished Young Women National Finals, held annually at the end of June. The Distinguished Young Woman of Louisiana and DYW winners from each state spend two weeks getting to know each other, building friendships, experiencing the fun and beauty of the area, enjoying the hospitality of local and national sponsors, and preparing for the National Finals competition. All State Distinguished Young Women will compete for a share of at least $150,000 in cash scholarships. To learn more about this wonderful program, please visit www.DistinguishedYoungWomen.org.
