Love this!!! Way to go Lions Club!!!!

Minot Central Dispatch & the Minot Fire Department would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Magic City Lions for their generous $5,000 donation.

The funds were used to help improve a decompression room — a quiet, comfortable space for dispatchers to use following particularly stressful or emotionally challenging calls. Dispatchers play a critical role as the first point of contact in emergencies, often managing high-stress situations while remaining calm and collected to coordinate lifesaving responses.

These updates have enhanced the room’s comfort and functionality, helping dispatchers take a moment to regroup and recover, and further supporting their mental health and overall well-being.

“We’re incredibly thankful for the Lions Club’s generosity," said Wayne Fahy, Public Safety Telecommunications Center Personnel Manager. "Their support allowed us to improve an important space that gives our dispatchers a chance to step away and reset after difficult calls. It’s a meaningful investment in the well-being of our team.”

“Our dispatchers are the unseen heroes behind every emergency response," Fire Chief Kelli Kronschnabel added. "The Lions Club’s support allows us to give back to them in a meaningful way, ensuring they have a place to recharge after tough calls.”

Minot Central Dispatch and the Minot Fire Department deeply appreciate the Magic City Lions Club’s ongoing commitment to improving the community and supporting those who serve it.

Mr. Java update:
Simple words…. trying to keep a wild toddler calm during the day and he sleeps at night like a new born. Lol. Over all Java is doing well and is on track with this healing journey. We had some swelling and fluid pooling in his leg over the weekend so i have been massaging his leg as much as he will let me and today it looking much better. He is starting to put more pressure on his leg when he walks, hates the therapy leg exercises we are suppose to do, so we do our best. Guaranteed he is getting spoiled and lots of loves and he can not wait until he can be free from the basement and get back to normal. He will get his staples out on Nov 6th and hopefully be cleared to get back to work.

Mr. Java is home from having a successful TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery yesterday. At five months old he was chasing his beloved feline and got his leg caught in the couch cushion and his body kept going and his knee did not tearing the cranial cruciate ligament, so we had to wait and keep him comfortable until his growth plates were fully shut before we could fix it. Yesterday was the day of fixing. The healing process for this pup is going to be challenging due to keeping him from not being a puppy and using his puppy brain and undoing the surgery before it fully heals due to running or twisting or flat doing something stupid… I have my work cut out for me. Over all he is resting well, I can tell he is in pain from his eyes but we have 4 pain meds we can give him to ensure he is comfortable. Thank you Dr Tonya at Missouri Valley Vet and team for taking such good care of Java. If you think about it please keep him in your thoughts and wish us a full recovery so we can get back to our work and passion that we have been called to do.
Java 💛’s you all and misses doing rounds already!!! Stay safe team!!!
