Forget $5 Friday this week, we have to have $5 Tuesday! We’ve taken in some very bad cases yesterday and today. We were called on the orange male. He was found at the soccer field by the maintenance department. He was sitting in the pouring rain, shaking and shivering and soaking wet. Upon walking up to him, it was noticed that he has some very definite neurological issues. We were able to net him and get him to the vet. X-rays are showing there is some sort of foreign, sparkly substance mass in his intestines and are expecting extreme toxicity, but that is only a guess. We are in a wait-and-see mode at the moment. The gray female showed up at somebody’s house last night with a significant injury. This is a cat that has been being fed by many people, and it was able to be trapped. She went to the vet and has some major biting wounds on her head and a major eye injury as well as COVERED in fleas and severe matting. We don’t know if the eye can be saved, but she is on good pain meds, good antibiotics and several kinds of eye drops multiple times a day. The vet bill just for these two cats is nearing $1600. The good news is we have $1000 in matching funds. Please help us get these two on the path to recovery. The only reason we had space was, we cleared out some kittens today transferring them to another rescue with the donations we had earned for them to make room for us to make some changes, but that quickly changed when these two had to come in. Update… Changes on hold.
