The CCVA is made up of our local Veteran Organizations: Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 10904, American Legion, Gold Star Post-78, Disabled American Veterans, Post-90, and the Marine Corps League, Detachment-1128. Your Coffee County Veterans Association (CCVA) is committed to bringing our local veterans, families and friends together by providing an online forum, and physical building, that allow u
s to meet and discuss veterans’ issues, organization events, or just come together in camaraderie. CCVA is an umbrella organization comprised of our four local veteran organizations: American Legion Gold Star Post 78; Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Tennessee Chapter 90; Brigadier General Austin C. CCVA provides oversight for our organizations’ combined administrative issues. There is strength in numbers! The old adage, “together we stand, divided we fall” has never rung truer for veterans than right now. We’re constantly in the crosshairs of Congress, and other elected bodies, regarding our EARNED benefits: which may not be there when we need them unless we come together with one loud voice, saying “we are veterans, we vote, and we are watching!”
It doesn’t matter if you’re 17 or 97; as a service member, you may have been subjected to many unknown chemical and other hazards that may not be identified until many years after your service. If we don’t have these organizations fighting for our benefits, we could end up with a serious health issue and no way to resolve it, get care for it or compensation for its reduction in our livelihood. One veteran may be heard but have no impact. Together, however, we pose a massive influence on our local, state and federal governments. That’s why you need to join us! We need your support: because we’re here to support you!
