The future of the White Mountains isn’t on the ballot this November. But the people we elect will make decisions that shape their future.

Right now, protections for hundreds of thousands of acres in the White Mountain National Forest are at risk as the Trump administration moves to repeal the Roadless Rule—and today is the last day to submit a public comment on the proposal.

And the industries with a stake in decisions like these have a lot of money to spend influencing who gets elected. Corporations have already poured nearly $650 million into influencing the 2026 midterms. But no matter how much money gets poured into our elections, each of us still gets a vote.

What happens next will be shaped by decisions made by the people we put in office. And those decisions reach far beyond Election Day—from the cost of living to the public lands and places we love.
