For the past two years, Arleen and her grandson Matthew have been volunteering side by side at Midwest Food Bank New England.

Matthew loves knowing he's helping feed people in need, while Arleen says her greatest joy has been watching her grandson embrace the mission.

Today is a bittersweet day, and I confess the time flew by. Today, we say goodbye to our very first intern, Mya, who became a fast friend and an important part of the New England division team.

She served and learned by working on projects ranging from fundraising to volunteer leadership and everything in between.

Mya's warmth, professionalism, and eagerness to learn will be missed, as our staff affirmed her contributions to the division over lunch today.

We wish her all the best as she continues her teaching career in Hartford. Thank you, Mya!

Visits like this affirm how valuable these partnerships are to the success of our mission. Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Hartford Thank you for not just accommodating us, but for being wonderful hosts and sharing more about your efforts to serve the surrounding community.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting leadership from Midwest Food Bank New England at our Institute for the Hispanic Family’s food pantry in Hartford.
During their visit, we toured our pantry operations and shared a firsthand look at how their support directly impacts local families. Conversations like these help us better understand the evolving needs of the families we serve — from stocking the most-requested staple items to streamlining how we get fresh food onto local tables.
A huge thank you to Midwest Food Bank New England for visiting, listening, and continuing to walk alongside us in alleviating food insecurity!

Ethan is part of Troop 33 in Middlefield, CT, and has built and delivered new shelves and a drop-off bin for community donations of food and household items.

Last week, an incredible group of volunteers came together at Midwest Food Bank New England in Manchester to make a difference in our community. Together, they repackaged more than 630 pounds of food, helping ensure that families and individuals in need have access to essential resources.
It was a truly rewarding experience and a great reminder of the impact we can make when we work together. A special thank you to Midwest Food Bank New England for the vital work they do every day to serve our community.
