The individual in the photo is Denise DeBlois, Commander of CWV Post 1624 in Manchester, NH. She is a Duty Officer and Disaster Responder with the American Red Cross of Northern New England. Remember to check your home for working smoke alarms.

Our Disaster Action Team in New Hampshire is assisting two adults and six children following a multi-family fire today on Beech St in Manchester. We are providing disaster-related health services, financial assistance and comfort kits to help meet these individuals’ immediate needs.

The Red Cross responds to a disaster every eight minutes, the majority of which are home fires. After a home fire, trained Red Cross volunteers work with fire departments to connect with families to help begin the recovery process. Thanks to donations, our services are free and available for all those in need.

Today, January 20th, the Catholic War Veterans of the United States of America honor the feast day of our Patron Saint, St. Sebastian, a soldier of Christ who remained steadfast in faith and courage under trial. As veterans, we draw inspiration from his unwavering commitment to his mission and his ultimate sacrifice for God.

Almighty God, through the intercession of St. Sebastian, Patron Saint of Soldiers, grant us the courage to defend faith and country, the strength to face life’s battles with integrity, and the grace to serve You in all we do. Amen.

May St. Sebastian guide and protect us as we continue our mission of service to God, Church, and nation. St. Sebastian, pray for us!

Sending Christmas blessings and Hope for the New Year.
