Today we’re giving some VERY deserved love to our drivers and riders — the people who spend countless hours behind the wheel and in the passenger seat pulling practices, shows, tournaments and approximately 8,000 “okay, but can we try it ONE more time?” passes. 😂

Our skiers may get the applause from shore, but none of it happens without the people in the boat.

We asked them which acts they love pulling or riding for, and their answers were too good not to share. 😂👇

🚤 Triple Rig Captain, Garth Peter— Skier/Show Director turned boat driver! He was an amazing driver this year, but, apparently his true passion in the boat is talking trash to Travis during practices and shows. Although, given the choice, he’d still rather be out on the water with the gang. 🤪

🚤 Triple Rig Rider, Travis Burnett — Had the privilege of riding with the show director this season. Travis’ typical night in the boat sounded like this, “yes that pull was fine. I have no idea why they fell. Yes, I can see our ballet line on the floor.” I think the crowd could’ve seen some of those eye rolls from Travis 🤣

🚤 Triple Rig Captain, Pat Lindell— Pat lives for the high speed acts! Pat loves to pull our 14 man Barefoot Line or any Jump act! He also loves pulling our opening Pyramid. Though he loves the speed the guy acts bring, rumor has it he likes to pull our swivel gals to really challenge himself 👏🏼☺️

🚤 Triple Rig Rider, Cindy Harkey— When asking Cindy what act is her favorite to ride for, it’s hard for her to pick! Cindy has been in the ski world for 40+ years and is a former skier, so in the boat she knows exactly what she’s looking for! Her favorites? Iron Cross Trios for the slow act and Jump for the fast act! Want to know if Cindy is having fun in the boat, just listen for her laugh.. you’ll hear it! 🫶🏼

🚤 Inboard Captain, Boo Chris Jones— This captain probably pulls the most variety in our show! Boo loves Around the Boat with his group of guys, but also gave a special shoutout to the entertainment that occurs while the Back Barefoot Line guys are getting ready and hopping in the water. Apparently this is the boat where fun and interesting conversations take place 🤪

🚤 Inboard Rider, Kara Zirtzman — unlike Captain Boo, Kara has a love hate relationship with Around the Boat. She loves it when the guys make it, but her heart skips a beat when they don’t. Kara loves her view of our Back Breaker from inside the boat and especially loves Trios because she gets a front-row seat to watch her daughters! 🥰

🚤 Inboard Rider, Jayna Stahmer Lindell— Jumped in with Boo and Kara this season to pull pin for Big Act Trios… and quickly learned that watching the skiers' faces as they approached a giant wake or taking off the dock was all the entertainment. 😂 She says there are also some boat secrets that apparently cannot be publicly disclosed. 👀

🚤 Single Rig Captain, Jon Pilcher- Jon has probably the most hours in the boat this year! Why?! Well, his Wife and Daughter cannot get enough skiing! Jon will drive them all day then come and pull the rest the team all night! Jon pulls a bit of everything including our highly difficult one ski jumps, our straps arrow and star swiveler! When Jon isn’t in the boat, he’s typically carrying around his wife and daughters swivel skis 😉

🚤 Single Rig Rider, Jeanne Ulrich- Jeanne plays a huge role of part-time skier and part-time rider! Jeanne will start the show in the boat, then run to ballet, then ride, then ski ballet again, then ride in the boat, and well… you can assume she does that all show! When Jeanne misses practice it takes about 5-7 people to make up her role! You can easily spot Jeanne in the boat, she’s always the one with a really big smile! 😆

🚤 the list goes on of are several other skiers and members who hop in the boat when the act requires more than one rider! The teamwork between our boat crew, dock crew and skiers is something that truly deserves so much recognition!

Thank you drivers and riders for giving us your time. Thank you for learning our acts. Thank you for putting up with us. Thank you for celebrating the good pulls and coming back around after the not-so-good ones. But most importantly, thank you for being people we trust with our safety. When our skiers leave that dock, they're putting an incredible amount of trust in the people inside that boat — and we are so grateful for the drivers and riders who take that responsibility seriously.

The people on the water might be the ones putting on the show… but the people in the boat are a huge reason we're able to do it. 💙🧡

🌊💙 MEET THE TEAM MONDAY! 💙🌊

This week, we’re welcoming the Anderson’s to the Hartwick Huskys!

After 35 years for David and 21 years for Elisabeth on another small team, they decided it was time for a change - and what better way to spend the summer than surrounded by amazing people on the water?! ☀️🌊

They’re already loving the Huskys family, especially the team’s family mentality and seeing their son, Asher, make so many new friends along the way! 💙

When it comes to skiing, David’s favorite is jumping, while Elisabeth’s is pyramids! And if something gets forgotten before a show… well, David might be the culprit! 😉😂

We’re SO excited to have the Anderson family joining us this season! Welcome to the Husky family! 🧡💙

WHAT A WAY TO END THE 2026 SEASON!

Yesterday’s Smokey's Lost Bar & Grill Beach Party was one for the books — and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better way to close out our season! 💙🧡

We performed the BIGGEST show we have ever put on at Lake Delhi, and it was INCREDIBLE. The shoreline was packed, the energy was unreal, and seeing so many people come out to spend the day with us meant more than we can say! A HUGE thank you to Smokey’s Lost Bar & Grill and Lake Delhi Rec for welcoming the Hartwick Huskys and allowing us to host our Beach Party with you. You gave us the perfect place to celebrate one final time this summer! 🌴☀️🚤

🚒 Thank you to the Delhi Fire Department for helping control boat traffic during our show and keeping our skiers safe on the water. Putting on a show like this takes a lot of coordination, and we are so grateful for your help!

🏐 Our volleyball tournament was an absolute blast! Thank you to every team who jumped in and made it such a fun part of the day, and a BIG congratulations to our tournament champions!

🧡 Come Try Water Skiing with the Hartwick Huskys! 🧡

Have you ever wanted to try water skiing or learn more about our team an joining? Now’s your chance! 🌊

The Hartwick Huskys are excited to share the sport we love with our community!

Our Learn-to-Ski event is open to kids and adults of ALL ages and experience levels—whether you've never been on skis before or just want to give it another try.

Never skied before? No problem! 🙌 Our friendly instructors will help you learn, have fun, and get comfortable on the water. And who knows? You might just become a member of the Hartwick Huskys family! 🧡💙

Many of our current team members first joined the Huskys after attending a Learn-to-Ski event!

What You Need to Know

🔸 We provide everything you need to ski! Boats, skis, ropes, and qualified instructors.

🔸 The event is sanctioned by USA Water Ski.

🔸 All ages are welcome!, Yes, including adults. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult/guardian age 18+.

🔸 Everyone is required to sign a waiver before participating.

🔸 Bring a towel and life jacket if you have one. All life jackets will be checked for proper fit before skiing. Don't forget the camera too! Make sure to tag the Hartwick Huskys in your posts.

🔸 No goggles, please.

🔸 For everyone's safety, if you currently have open wounds, stitches, or have recently had surgery, please sit this one out and join us another time. ❤️
