The Manchester Sculpture Project

The Manchester Sculpture Project An exciting and long-lasting way of celebrating and honoring the people who have made an impact on th Bennet. They will inspire others to do great things.

We are inspired by the ordinary citizens of Manchester who have done extraordinary things. To honor them, we are raising funds to create life size sculptures and place them in strategic places in Town for the enjoyment, education, promotion and celebration of them and our community. The Manchester Historical Society is acting as our fiduciary agent, so your donations are tax deductible in accordan

ce with the law. The first three honorees are Olympic medalist Joe McCluskey, author Emily Cheney Neville and educator Elisabeth M. They will provide enjoyment for those who want to sit with Emily on her proposed sculpted bench, to run alongside Joe on our famous Race course, and to be reminded of the innovation and heroism of Miss Bennet. Join us with whatever size contribution you can provide. Be a part of the community in a truly meaningful and long-lasting way.

Sculptures sure takes on new significance throughout the year. MRR participant Bonnie Jacobson took this photo of our Joe McCluskey statue during this recent snowstorm. Hoping Joes hat and scarf make you smile as you travel these cold snowy days. Thanks Bonnie!

And the fascinating process continues….

“In general, waxes are cast from the rubber molds and then checked for irregularities like air pockets, pin holes and any loss of details. Checking the waxes is an opportunity to fine tune as well. Sometimes wax surfaces will have irregularities or the parts need to be checked for even shrinkage and fit etc.”,

We would be remiss if we did not thank each of the artists who worked so long to create such beautiful Christmas wreaths and decorations, which helped us to raise more than $6000 at our recent Holiday Spirit event. Many many thanks go to…
