My name is Sandra. I took the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam, in April of this year, and scored an average grade point of A-.
While in form one (freshman), I used to be sent home because of outstanding school fees.
You see, my mother does casual work, like doing house chores for people, which is low paying and unpredictable. She couldn’t afford to put food on the table some days, so paying my high school fees was a tall order.
I missed school so much while in form 1 due to constantly being sent home to get outstanding school fees. Being in and out of school interfered with my studying and grades.
I was fortunate to be selected as one of Rehema Education Fund’s scholarship beneficiaries at the beginning of Form 2 (sophomore). There is no doubt in my mind that God sent Rehema Education Fund which made sure my school fees was paid on time, giving me the opportunity to study uninterrupted.
Scholars have to send report cards (grades) to Rehema Education Fund at the end of each term (semester). I used to have problems with Swahili unit, but Millie, one of Rehema’s co-founders and board member, gave me great advice on what to do to improve my grade. I took this advice to heart and was able improve my Swahili grade from a D to an A- in KCSE.
The zoom meetings with my fellow beneficiaries of the foundation, enabled me to learn new ways of studying in order to achieve better results.
Thank you Rehema Education Fund for paying my school fees for three years and enabling me to get A- in KCSE. The A- will allow me to choose my preferred major at one of the prestigious public universities.
Thank you again Rehema Education Fund for your care and generosity.
