TVB Varsity Boys Izaya Diaz made the “X” platform from last weekends NERR: NEHF event, down 4 vs 5 the entire game without subs against a tough Mass Rivals team. His leadership and constant court presence was shown, attacking the basket relentlessly and getting to his spots. Zay hasn’t had the traditional path that a student-athlete chooses to take, he had to take time away from his schooling to attend to family matters and plans to finish his GED this summer to be able to go to college next year. When asked what Coach Mo sees in him he responded, “Zay is the type of player that will fit anywhere he goes, whether he’s a starter or coming off the bench his explosiveness and athleticism will always be shown. When he couldn’t finish his senior year on the court I was upset, I was sure that the Crusaders would’ve been able to make a run in the playoffs alongside Bilolo and Bory - arguably 3 of the top guards in the state… but everything happens for a reason and we’re looking forward to seeing him continue his basketball journey as he looks for an opportunity play at the next level.” Zay is the type of player that understands that sacrifices have to be made in the short term to see the results in the long term, and that goes for both on and off the court. Colleges and post grads take notice, if you have any questions about Zay contact Coach Mo directly. Congratulations again!! 🌟
