IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: After well over three years of continuous operations we are quite saddened by having to now inform everyone that it is extremely likely our program will need to go on hiatus very soon. We fully expect to be open throughout next week, and on the following Monday (10/20). But after that there are no guarantees.

Our hiatus could begin any time after that. We do not yet know if it will actually happen, or how long it will take for us to get up and running again. So please check with our representatives in the field (Dam, George, Zack, Skinny, Crystal, etc.) or check with the Wash Street Laundromat if you are hoping to attend any of our events after October 20th.

We are not able to disclose the reasons for this hiatus until after it starts. Please understand that any such disclosures could possibly jeopardize our ability to at least be able to host a few more events before October 21st. Also please know that we are doing everything possible to make sure that we will be continuing this program as soon as we possibly can, and that we are tremendously confident that it will end up being better than ever!

As for potential speculation or rumors we want to be very clear about two things...

First and foremost: The owners of the Wash Street Laundromat (Kristyn and Laura) absolutely love this program. That has not changed. It was actually their idea in the first place. They have been so tremendously helpful, supportive, and generous, ever since we started this over three years ago. They are very much looking forward to helping us in any way that they can with continuing and expanding our program.

Secondly: This is not a result of any incidents of bad behaviors from our guests. We pride ourselves on being able to minimize the amount and the impact of any incidents which might arise from guests who occasionally fail to follow our #1 rule (be safe and respectful at all times). Surely misunderstandings about our overall success in that area have sometimes caused unwarranted concerns from neighbors or from city officials. However our current circumstances are absolutely not a result of any complaints (legitimate or otherwise) from any neighbors or city officials or anyone else.

We ask you all to please be patient and accept that we will be able to release more information soon. This will include the actual beginning and end dates for our hiatus, as well as the reasons for it. For more information about that just please just "stay tuned" by following this page.

As always, please stay safe out there, no matter what. And please know that we will always be sending you even when we are temporarily unable to provide our usual plethora of services. Our mission is to provide critical aid for those who are suffering through the horrors of being unhoused and unsheltered in the city of Manchester. That will absolutely never change, and we will absolutely never be stopped. ❤️❤️❤️

We often talk about our basic services and aid to the local homeless community. But there are some things we do which are truly amazing, and go way beyond our usual services...

Last night we had a friend come in who said he needed to go to rehab, immediately. That can sometimes be tough, especially at 2:00am. But we helped him make the calls and get a cab and sent him off to a facility in Nashua. We were very proud of him, and he promised to write to us soon.

We also had someone who was afraid to walk back to their spot and was worried about "getting jumped". So our event host (Dam) and one of our volunteers (Adam) escorted them on foot to their destination about a mile away.

These things don't happen all the time, but they do happen. It's certainly not the first time, in both cases, and it surely won't be the last. We're always happy to help our friends and neighbors from the local homeless community, and we hope to continue doing so for many years to come.

Huge thanks to everyone who makes what we do possible, and to you all! ❤️❤️

UPDATE: YOUR HELP IS NEEDED AND GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Urgent needs: Large trash bags

High priority needs: Laundry detergent and disposable cups.

Additional needs: Donated adult clothing and blankets, charging cords and blocks, any camping gear, powdered drink mix, paper towels, and toilet paper.

Many of these items are listed in our Amazon wishlist. You can also send anything that isn't on the wishlist through Amazon using the wishlist link which is provided in the comments below. And you can drop items off in person 8am-8pm seven days a week at the Wash Street laundromat (1237 Elm St.), or contact us to arrange for pickups of larger or bulk donations. You can also donate to our "rainy day fund" which is used to purchase necessary items for our operation, and the link for that has also been provided in the comments below.

For almost three years we have been happy to provide our local homeless neighbors each week with as many as 120+ free loads of laundry, 120+ shared community meals, and a variety of other services. Also thanks to our good friends at Acts of Kindness NH we now also provide food pantry services to as many as 160+ of our struggling friends who are stuck out on the streets of Manchester.

Huge thanks as always to all of our donors, supporters, volunteers, partner organizations, and of course our wonderful hosts at Wash Street. The help that we're able to give because of you has been consistently making our neediest neighbors safer, healthier, happier, and better equipped to face the horrendous challenges of surviving while living on the streets. Most of all it helps these struggling people to know that they are loved. Thank you all for sharing that love, with us and with the people we serve, and to you all! ❤️❤️❤️

***WHO WE ARE AND HOW TO HELP***

Who We Are...

The Loads of Love program provides help to our neighbors in Manchester who are struggling with homelessness. Specifically we serve those who are both unhoused and unsheltered, living outside, or in cars, or in other places which are generally not considered suitable for human habitation. We hold events twice every week offering free laundry services, community meals, bathroom access, wifi, charging stations, donated items, and much more. Most nights we serve roughly 70-100+ people and we have been operating this program since August of 2022.

How to Help...

Top Current Needs (regularly edited): Plastic cups and laundry soap.

Items which are useful in-house include laundry soap, dryer sheets, disposable cups/plates/bowls/utensils, toilet paper, paper towels, drink mix, soda, non-perishable food or snacks, charging cords and blocks, etc. Items which are useful for distribution include gently used and seasonably appropriate adult clothing or shoes, blankets and sleeping bags, tents, tarps, general camping supplies, rain gear, batteries, hygiene items, etc.

Happy holidays to all! Though for some people the holidays won't be so happy. Especially for those who are stuck out on the streets in the cold with no homes. Please support us in helping those people by donating whatever you can to help, through direct donations, or our wish list, or our "pizza fund".

The most needed items right now are blankets, sleeping bags, and hand warmers. Also tents, tarps, coats, warm socks, and we always need more plastic cups since we go through so many at our events. Any other warm clothing, shoes, camping supplies, etc. would also very helpful right now.

To donate in person just drop off items at the Wash Street laundromat (1237 Elm St.) 8am-8pm seven days per week. Or call 603-623-9587 to arrange pickups when needed for larger donations.

To donate via our wish list or pizza fund just use the links which are provided in the comments below.

Many thanks to all those who have given so much already. With your help we have improved and even saved the lives of countless less fortunate neighbors. And the more you give, the more help we can provide, as one of the only programs which distributes all items directly to the unsheltered homeless community in Manchester.

Stay safe, stay warm, stay kind, stay loving, stay generous. And as always: Loads of Love to you all! ❤️❤️❤️

IMPORTANT SCHEDULING ANNOUNCEMENT...

Just a reminder that we will not be holding our usual event on Thursday of this week. We will be open on Friday night instead. We always do this for Thanksgiving, and for Christmas if it falls on one of our usual event nights. Mostly because those are the two days when people are likely to be busy with many other aid events, or with family. For all other holidays we do maintain our usual schedule.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and much love to you all! ❤️
