Media Power Youth

Media Power Youth We inspire young people to engage with media in creative & constructive ways that support well-being.

Media Power Youth inspires young people to engage with media in creative and constructive ways that support their physical and mental well-being. We partner with schools and communities to invest in youth and sustain them in their journey to find balance in their technology use, such that it enriches rather than compromises their success in school and in life. Media Power Youth encourages young pe

ople to discovery their own agency in shaping the media ecosystem that drives our inner and outer worlds - conversations that are constantly shifting and occur every day through the media we love, share, and create. We believe media literacy is a life skill that all children deserve to learn. We connect with youth through creative, diverse learning experiences while mentoring the adults who support them in their goals. We strive to be a resource for well-being that builds critical-thinking skills and brings together youth, parents, educators, health advocates, and community members so we can all learn from each other.

We're thrilled to be partnering with Franklin High School this year. Please join us for a screening of this student documentary on June 11th and learn what makes Franklin an amazing community!

🎬 YOU’RE INVITED: "A City Reimagined" Documentary Screening!

What keeps Franklin strong? Why do people choose our city to build their futures?

Our talented Franklin High School students have spent the semester creatively exploring these questions. In partnership with Power Youth, students in our "Rooted in Franklin" journalism elective have written, filmed, and produced an inspiring documentary that celebrates the heart of our community. 🌪️💙⚡

Join us on June 11 after the Class Day parade to see the film and support our filmmakers! The screening starts at 1:30 in the Franklin High School cafeteria.

Special thanks to the Hampshire Charitable Foundation for making this Extended Learning Opportunity possible!

Media Literacy in Action: A City Reimagined 🎬

We are incredibly proud to share a closer look at our partnership with Franklin High School!

In the "Rooted in Franklin" journalism elective, students became community storytellers, directors, and champions for the place they call home. By stepping behind the camera to interview local leaders and neighbors, they’ve been uncovering what makes their city resilient and where its future is headed.
