Friends of Music at Emanuel A non-profit organization founded in 2011 to bring a highly artistic chamber music series to Emanuel Lutheran Church & the wider Manchester, CT community.

Friends of Music at Emanuel is a non-profit organization affiliated with Emanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester, Connecticut. The Friends' mission is to offer great musical performances to the Manchester and Greater Hartford Community. Emanuel Lutheran Church graciously allows the use of their intimate, wonderfully resonant space and amazing instruments, including the 1893 Steinway concert grand, D

JOIN US Saturday evening, January 31, for the Friends of Music of Emanuel concert featuring pianist Albert Cano Smit. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Emanuel Lutheran Church is located at 60 Church Street, Manchester, CT. (Church Street is one block from Main Street in downtown Manchester.)

The program includes
Johann Sebastian Bach's English Suite in G minor, BWV808,

Gabriel Faurés Nocturne No. 6 in D-flat Major, Op. 63, Impromptu in F minor Op.31, and Ballade in F-sharp Major, Op. 19

Selections from Die Kunst der Fugue, BWV 1080 by J.S. Bach

Franz Liszt's Ballade No. 2 in B minor, S.171

Selections from Die Kunst der Fuge, BWV 1080 by J.S. Bach

Goyescas, Op. 11 by Enrique Granados

There is no admission fee and a reception will follow the concert in Luther Hall.

The featured performer, Albert Cano Smit, who speaks five languages, was born in Geneva, the son of a Dutch mother and Spanish father. He left home at the age of 9 to join the Escolania de Montserrat choir school. He completed an Artist Diploma and Masters Degree with Robert McDonald at the Juilliard School, where he was awarded the 2020 Rubinstein Prize for Piano. He also holds a BA in Piano Performance from the Colburn School.

Mark your calendar. On Sunday afternoon, November 9, at 4 pm, The Sebastians will present "Handel's London" at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 60 Church Street, Manchester. Their program explores the vibrant sound, virtuosity and theatrical flair of 18th century compositions.

The Sebastians, known for their versatility in performances of baroque music, are based in New York City and perform across the US at major festivals and early music series. Their Core Quartet features Daniel Lee and Nicholas DiEugenio, violinists, Ezra Seltzer, cellist, and Jeffrey Grossman on the harpsichord.

Join us for this program in the 2025-2026 Friends of Music at Emanuel concert series of chamber music featuring outstanding, talented musicians. Admission to the FME series, which is now in its 13th season, is free and donations are accepted. A reception follows the concert for an opportunity to meet the performers and enjoy refreshments.

ANASTASIA DEDIK, award winning concert pianist, will present a program featuring composers from Ukraine, Russia, Germany and Poland. Mark the date on your calendar, Saturday, March 22, at 7 pm. This program is presented by the Friends of Music at Emanuel at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 60 Church Street, in Manchester, CT.

Born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Russia to a family of distinguished musicians, Anastasia graduated from The Saint Petersburg Conservatory in 2004 and moved to the United States to continue her education at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and The Juilliard School on full talent scholarships. She has been the recipient of numerous national and international awards.

Anastasia Dedik has been performing as a soloist and chamber musician on some of the most important stages in the world, including the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, The Great Philharmonic Hall in St. Petersburg, Russia and many others. She has appeared as a soloist with Fort Worth Symphony, Saint Petersburg Philharmonic, NYCA Symphony Orchestra, San Jose Symphony, and Oberlin Orchestra.



Emanuel is located at 60 Church Street, Manchester, CT, just a block away from Main Street. Admission is free. Donations are accepted. A reception will follow the concert

Celebrate the season with music for the holidays presented by Voices of Concinnity on Saturday, December 14, at 7 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 60 Church Street, Manchester.

Voices of Concinnity is Connecticut's versatile 12-voice professional chamber ensemble that illuminates the breadth and variety of choral music through innovative and artfully sung programming. The group is the 2024 gold medal winner of the Global Music Award, an international music competition, that acknowledges independent musicians.

This is the third program in the 2024-2025 Friends of Music at Emanuel concert series that features outstanding, talented musicians. Admission is free and donations are accepted at the FME chamber music series which is now in its 12th season. A reception follows the concert.
