We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to invite you to testify in support of several important bills that are currently under consideration, all of which aim to support our veterans in meaningful ways. The Veterans’ and Military Affairs Committee will be holding a public hearing on Thursday, February 13, at 11:30 a.m. in Room 1C of the Legislative Office Building, with virtual access available via Zoom and YouTube Live.

If you’re able to attend, there will also be a FREE tour of the CT Legislative Office Building and the Capitol at 9:15 a.m.

The hearing will cover a number of critical legislative proposals, including:
• S.B. 1276: An Act Concerning a Property Tax Exemption for Veterans Who Are Permanently and Totally Disabled Based on a Disability Rating of 100% and a Property Tax Exemption for Gold Star Spouses.
• S.B. 1150: An Act Providing for No-Cost Driver's License Renewals for Veterans.
• H.B. 5517: An Act Concerning the Department of Veterans Affairs and a Connecticut Veterans Cemetery.
• S.B. 1277: An Act Concerning Affordable Housing for Certain Disabled or Elderly Veterans.
• H.B. 6874: An Act Establishing Protections for Veterans from Benefits Claim Sharks.
