Sadie has spent 3/4 of our seasons with us... Summer... Fall... Now Winter... 161 days. She has been waiting for her forever home since August 2025. She is about 4 1/2 years old (4 years and 5 months) & weighs 61lbs. She is a German Shepherd, Labrador Retriever mix.

Sadie Is housetrained & crate trained. She is a good girl in her crate and doesn't make a mess. She will ask to go outside, and often keeps her kennel fresh & clean.
As a GSD she has a lot to say; she can be reactive to other dogs in a shelter sitting; but has done well living with specific dogs in the past. Aka; she is dog selective. She would do well with older, dog savvy teenagers, and no cats or small animals.

To describe Sadie in three words: Smart, Silly & Active!

Her favorite things to do are go for rides in the car, doing puzzles, doing training & agility, working her brain & going on runs with our volunteers. She has been getting more time out of her kennel which she is thoroughly enjoying. We would love to find a foster home for her, or better yet, an adopter, before the kennels start getting re-done. As a reactive girl to other dogs, being in a crate during this transition would be extremely hard for her!

Sadie is really such a catch. She would make an incredible companion. Please help us find her person? 🥺💘🐾

Happy 2nd Birthday, Nova! 😍

Today is Nova's 2nd birthday. She is now officially 2 years young.

She has been with us since last July, after being found tied up in a park, all alone, in the blazing heat. She has come such a long way since her intake ~ she can really trust her people now. Nova has a behavior plan that needs to be continued once she is adopted (this is very important for Nova)

While we LOVE Nova and love having her here with us; no dog wants to turn another year older in a shelter. Let's change that for Nova!

Nova's Ideal Birthday Gift: A home that is...
- Adult Only Household / Quiet
- Willing to continue B.P.
- No children or frequent visitors
- Potentially has a cat (Nova passed her cat test)
- Willing to snuggle during thunderstorms
- Willing to let Nova bring a ball with her anywhere she goes
- Prepared to give her unconditional love
- Has endless supply of Hot Dogs

Nova is looking for another chance. She was recently adopted but returned when it was not the best fit for her. We know that her person is out there, and would love to see her turn 3 in her forever home.

"Okay ladies & gents... I am looking for my human love this Valentines Day. As you know, my name is Papucho. Did you know that "Papucho" is a Spanish term of endearment meaning "Handsome"?! Well, now you do, and it makes sense. Just look at me!

I am trying my hardest to get adopted. I am going on MANY exciting field trips with my friends, the park, Dunkin Donuts, Ben & Jerry's, and my most recent escapade was this lovely photoshoot where I got endless attention. I am working on my training behaviors & becoming an amazing listener. I am looking for a home with no other dogs, and ideally no small animals. My friends tell me I have a high prey drive, and I also love to hunt in the bushes for little critters. So I would also need a home with dog savvy, older children if you have little ones. In my kennel, I am quiet and composed ~ which is a flex in a shelter setting. I am really finding myself lately.

A lot is coming up ~ including some construction of our kennel. I would love to find a home before then. I know the Olympics, the Superbowl, AND the Puppy Bowl are all this weekend?! I can only imagine the wonderful snacks that will be cooked all weekend. Oh... to be a human...."

One of our staff members had the afternoon off the other day & did the sweetest thing, they took Sadie on an adventure of a lifetime.

Miles said, "I took Sadie on a little outing since she's been so cooped up this winter. I took her to an indoor private dog park in concord first. She didn't really know what to think of it but she got some nice off leash time to run around. I took her on a nice short cool down trail walk after where she got some good sniffs (including a carcass of some kind)" She even got a Pup Cup on her way back!

Shout out to places like "No Monkey Business Dog Training Fun Spot" (located in Concord) for offering great opportunities such as this for dogs to have their own confined safe space.

Sadie is an incredibly smart dog who just wants to see the sights and sniff all of the smells. As someone who absolutely loves to work her brain, she is looking for someone who will never get bored of giving her fun things to do & experience. Thank you Miles for doing this for her!

Edward still hasn’t found his forever home 🥺 we were so hopeful after his last post because he got so much attention, but he did not receive any applications. 💔

He is now back in foster. He is still available for adoption 💚 he is a senior boy, at almost 12 years old.

Edward loves to be brushed, sun-bathe on his shelf, curl up to you while you watch TV & make biscuits in his blankets. He is overall calm & quiet & would do well with another respectful cat or potentially a respectful dog.

His foster tells us some specific things he loves are
• listening to Taylor Swift
• using rubber matts for scratching posts
• likes to walk on throw rugs instead of wood floors so he doesnt slip

This sweet man is diagnosed with Kidney Disease; he does take daily medication for high blood pressure & arthritis. If you are thinking about adopting Edward, please email us: [email protected]

Please help share this post and spread the word. This man needs a home! 🏡

These pictures perfectally capture Sadie and her joy for life. She is a 4y.o girl who is looking for her fur-ever family ❤️‍🩹 She is our only dog who does not mind this winter snow, and has been loving her time to romp around in it ❄️☃️

She’s looking for someone to apply for her & schedule an appt to meet her 🤼‍♀️

She is crate trained, house broken, good with most humans, and could potentially live with other animals with a slow & proper introduction. She is also great with older, dog savvy children 🩷 Sadie is dog selective and will need to determine if your dog is the right match for her.

is here with a special treat for you all! (2/1/26 ~ 2/28/26)

Papucho our handsome pittie has his very own sundae ready for purchase. For just $9, you can get a hand crafted sundae made by us here at the shelter. (It is perfect for those of you with a sweet tooth!)

1/2 of the proceeds made from the sales of the sundae come to us here at FMAS as a monetary donation. Spend $9, and donate $4.50 of that to our cause. Ben & Jerry’s even went ahead and made up a special dog appropriate sundae for each of our current kennel residents.

Thank you for your support! 💘🐶🍦

Katniss is almost 4 years young. For 163 days, she has been waiting for someone to give her a second chance at life. That is almost 1/2 a year 🥺

As a fellow independent lady; Katniss is looking for a calm & quiet sophisticated household where her owner does lots of puzzles & watches nature documentaries.

Katniss has only child syndrome meaning ~ she would like to be the only animal in the home. "No other dogs, no other cats, please," says the Queen. She's the type of cat who gets easily overwhelmed & would love to experience the luxury of "cabin fever." Thinking about being hunkered down on a warm cozy couch sounds like a slice of heaven to her.
