Children in early adolescence experience large intellectual, physical, social and emotional changes, they are also the most commonly left alone after school. They are old enough to take care of themselves, but not old enough to drive themselves to work or other after school activities. We feel organizations often focus on high risk teens, and forget about the rest.

The cafe did it again. Making an impact!

The Chester Café has become a hangout for young people to do what generations before them have always done — socialize with their friends in a safe, friendly environment. And unlike my generation, they don’t need to dance the Watusi to help them do it.

Kelly's daughters are active members at The Chester Cafe our local non profit Teen Cafe.

Kelley Lee Thomas, 34, of Manchester, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 21, 2017, at her residence.
