The need is real and it's growing. 💙 Our Food Pantry sees this firsthand every day, serving over 1,300 Manchester households each month.

We're grateful for partners like the New Hampshire Food Bank working to address food insecurity across our state. Read their full report and see how you can help.

🚨 1 in 6 New Hampshire children is experiencing food insecurity.

A new Feeding America Map the Meal Gap report reveals a troubling increase in hunger across our state. Child food insecurity has risen 6% in just one year, from 36,160 children to 38,430.

Overall, 1 in 9 Granite Staters now face food insecurity—up from 10.7% to 11.2%.

Seven of New Hampshire’s 10 counties saw measurable increases in food insecurity, with children among those most impacted.

These numbers represent real children, families and neighbors who are struggling to put enough food on the table.

At the New Hampshire Food Bank, we’re responding by expanding fresh food rescue, increasing deliveries to remote communities, providing more fresh produce and protein through Mobile Food Pantries, and strengthening the network of more than 400 partner agencies working across our state.

But we cannot do this alone. Together, we can make sure every child in New Hampshire has access to the nutritious food they need to learn, grow and thrive.

When someone is experiencing homelessness, something as simple as a travel-size bottle of shampoo, deodorant, sunscreen, or toothpaste can make a meaningful difference. These items help people stay healthy, feel comfortable, and maintain dignity all year.

Right now, our Adult Emergency Shelter is running very low on travel-size hygiene supplies.

If your workplace, civic group, neighborhood, or faith community has been looking for a meaningful way to give back, consider organizing a hygiene drive. Even a small collection can have a big impact for neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Summer shouldn’t mean hunger ☀️🍎

While many of us look forward to summer break, it can be a time of uncertainty for families facing food insecurity—especially for children who rely on school meals during the year.

That’s why summer food drives matter. Right now, our shelves need a boost. Here are 2 ways you can help:

🛒 Host a food drive with your workplace, community group, or neighborhood

🍽️ Collect kid-friendly, shelf-stable items like:
-Peanut butter
-Granola bars
-Canned tuna & chicken
-Pasta & sauce
-Cereal & oatmeal
-Snacks & juice boxes

Visit https://www.fitnh.org/high-needs/ for donation drop-off options. 💙 Every item donated helps us support families all summer long.

Last year, Families in Transition provided housing and emergency shelter services to 1,183 adults and children across our community.

Every number represents a parent, a child, a coworker, a classmate — a person working toward a more stable future.

Every number is a story of resilience, stability, and hope made possible by a community that believes everyone deserves a safe place to call home. 💙

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, partner, and advocate who made this impact possible. Together, we're building stronger futures for our community.

A new school year is right around the corner, and kids in our programs need shoes to start the year ready for the classroom.

We’re currently collecting new children’s shoes in a variety of sizes and styles to support families experiencing homelessness and housing instability. A new pair of shoes can provide comfort and confidence as children head back to school and settle into new routines.

Donations can be dropped off at our Food Pantry and Donation Center at 176 Lake Ave. in Manchester.

Thank you for showing up for children and families in our community during this busy back-to-school season.
