The Maquoketa River Watershed Management Authority has partnered with the University of Iowa's School of Planning and Public Affairs (SPPA) and the Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities (IISC) to create a Watershed Management Plan.

As the planning process is wrapping up, the team presented Phase II at a public event in Maquoketa last night. Thank you to everyone who showed up and helped us celebrate this project!

One week from tomorrow: Tanner, Maya, and Henry will present the final product and recommendations of Phase II. Don't miss this grand event, with presentations from many student groups taking place across Maquoketa from 3-5pm! T-minus five weeks until Phase II of the Maquoketa River Watershed Management Plan is released!
The planning team has completed a first draft, thanks to input and support from project partners, advisors, watershed residents, technical experts, and many of you. Stay tuned for information on the final presentation event (hint: its on May 5th) and the finished plan!

Meet this year's planning team for Phase 2 of the Maquoketa River Watershed Management Plan!

We are all planning students from the University of Iowa School of Planning and Public Affairs with varying concentrations, but a collective appreciation for the importance of healthy watersheds.

Through the 2nd year of partnership between the Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities and the Maquoketa River Watershed Management Authority, we are developing an action plan for projects and management practices that follow the vision of the 1st plan created last year.
