THANK YOU to all who particpated in the Luminaria on Christmas Eve. As always the streets were beautifly lit to celebrate this festive season. A special thank you to the City of Manchester and the DDA, Worth Repeating and the Masonic Lodge, Ace hardware, Manchester Aggregate and the Manchester Area Historical Society and to YOU for helping to make ths possible.

Luminaria sales start TODAY, 4 - 6 PM at the KJ garage, drive thru.
Tuesday NOON to 6 pm, Xmas Eve NOON to 4 PM. Still only $5 for a set of 10.

Saturday was the Manchester Lions "Kids Christmas" with 29 kiddos going shopping in Manchester to buy presents for their parents and siblings, then bring them back to wrap them while waiting on the pizza party and Santa to arrive. A fun time was had by all.

ID Dave Wineman was exceptionally pleased to present Manchester Lions Club President Colleen Schoenfeld with a Melvin Jones Fellowship. Manchester is a 300% Model Club with LCIF.

The Manchester Lions added three new members. President Colleen Schoenfeld pins new member Lauren Jay, and Mick & Maryann Davis's son Mike is inducted by ID Dave Wineman, and PCC Barry Allen accepts the membership for Lion Guy Gilbert.

Little Clara approached the Pumpkin Bowling with lightning determination in her eyes. She was (and did) win the giant stuffed turkey. The Manchester Lions had over 300 kids participate in our annual Halloween pumpkin bowling, with 90 of them getting a strike or spare and in the drawing for the stuffed animal. All participants received some candy and a small stuffed animal.

The Manchester Lions are pleased to add Steve Head to our membership. Steve is the new superintendent of schools for Manchester who was a teacher, principal and superintendent of the Onsted schools until his retirement. Manchester posed a challenge he couldn't ignore so he came out of retirement to move the Manchester schools to excellence. Steve is a former long time Kiwanian so brings a wealth of knowledge and service to the Lions. Battle Creek Cereal City Past District Governor Roger Spriggs performed the induction with Manchester President Colleen Schoenfeld (also a School Board member) as his sponsor. We are excited to add Steve to our Lions Club and expand our community service.

Lion Anita Herman holds back a tear as she is presented a "Heart of a Lions" certificate from Manchester Lions president Colleen Schoenfeld. Anita is leaving Manchester for Colorado to be closer to family so we wanted to honor her for all her involvement with the community. We will truly miss her.

Do you know what's louder than a Lion's ROAR. The Penrickton Center's Ride for a Reason when over 500 motorcycles start up for the event. Held this past Sunday at Cabela's in Dundee. PCC Peggy helped register riders and PCC Barry directed traffic.
