We’re thrilled to share that we’ve been awarded a grant from The Lillian Ashley Fund at Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee!

This support fuels our mission to increase education and sustainability in America's most diverse river---the Duck River and helps us make a meaningful difference in Coffee County.

What a great Duck River Watershed Society Education Day event; our first. Almost 200 sixth graders from the Coffee County Middle School joined the DRWS for a day of hands on ecology and science at the Old Stone Fort State Park on Tuesday, May 12th.

Many thanks to the Old Stone Fort State Park team, led by Marlie Gibbs, for hosting this event, the Coffee County Middle School, The Tennessee Duck River Agency, and the DRWS Board Team.

Great appreciation to our funders: The Lillian Ashley Fund, The Maddox Fund and the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival for support of this effort.

Check out the wonderful report by Sam Chimenti from Channel 2 News:

Hundreds of Coffee County middle school students gathered along the Duck River Tuesday for an “education day.”

2026 Spring Clean-up Canceled due to Servere Weather!

Out of an abundance of caution for our volunteers, board members, partners, and vendors, it is with a heavy heart that we must cancel the 2026 Spring Clean-Up event.

Weather forecasts indicate a severe storm system moving through Middle Tennessee this weekend, bringing the potential for dangerous conditions on both Saturday and Sunday. The safety of our volunteers and community is always our highest priority, and after careful consideration we believe canceling the event is the most responsible decision.
