Good afternoon ARTC Members

Just a reminder of our Fall luncheon, October 18, 2022. You should have received the brochure in your US mailboxes. If you have not, you may want to call the office to see if we have your address correct in our database. 860-649-9457. The speakers will be Governor Ned Lamont and gubernatorial candidate Bob Stefanowski. We also have several vendor/information tables. Those include the TRB having UnitedHealthcare and CIGNA, the Center for Medicare Advocacy, AMBA, and several items for sale, such as wooden toys, jewelry, glass items and more. POSITION: Adult Education Part-Time Teaching Position

Subject Areas Needed: ESL

DATE AVAILABLE: September 1, 2021

POSITION SUMMARY: Teacher of English for Speakers of other Languages (TESOL)

The American Place at the Hartford Public Library operates its program from September through June. Plan and implement interactive lessons to teach basic English communication skills to adults with limited English proficiency and from various educational, language and cultural backgrounds with the goal of increasing their self-sufficiency in work, family and community life.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and prepare throughout the year for goal-oriented, curricula-aligned instruction.

• Adapt the curriculum to provide instruction to meet the needs of students.

• Integrate technology into classroom instruction, when appropriate.

• Maintain accurate daily records of attendance.

Prep time per two hour class session covered.

No benefits.

30 – 35 dollars an hour

P/T Mornings, T/W/TH from 9:30 am – 11:30 am

P/T Evenings, T/W/TH from 6 pm – 8 pm Qualifications:

Must possess and/or be eligible for CT English to Non-English Speaking Adults ( #088) endorsement

Previous ESL teaching experience required
