Council on America's Military Past (CAMP) is a military support organization in Manassas, Virginia. Our main goal is to honor the US Army by preserving war bases and installations. We have been visiting war sites and museums, as well as conducting symposium on the rich history of the civil war for many years. Initially, The Council on America's Military Past, USA, Inc. was founded in 1966 in Phoen

ix, Arizona as the Council on Abandoned Military Posts and chartered as a nonprofit educational association. Despite our location in the west, we have exerted all our efforts to conduct activities and lectures nationwide. We have members in all states and in ten foreign countries. Some of them are agencies, including the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the National Archives and Record Service. Aside from that, many of our members are military officers and historians. Mission Statement
Our mission is to identify, locate, preserve, and memorialize military installations and units that no longer serve the role for which they were created. We gather members to help us in spreading awareness about the life of the US army while they are in service. The association was renamed the Council on America's Military Past, USA, Inc. in 1981 to reflect those expanding membership interests.
