Hope And Grace Transitional Home For Women

Hope And Grace Transitional Home For Women To provide women a safe transitional housing alternative through the message and experience of hope, grace and love of Jesus Christ.

As a volunteer at my local jail, I have seen and experienced the necessity for shelter and guidance for the women who are incarcerated there. As a result of poor decisions and past mistakes, many of these women have burned bridges . . . Bridges to shelter, bridges to family care, bridges to life according to how God has intended. Out of this need Hope and Grace Transitional Home for Women was birt

hed. Hope and Grace Transitional Home for Women will be a home for women coming out of incarceration/drug rehabilitation who are looking to rebuild their lives and relationships through the message of love, hope and grace of Jesus Christ. Myself, along with a group of women who have experienced incarceration/addiction, are reaching back, extending a hand to our sisters who have falling into the trap that we once lived in. To give them hope through Christ and to encourage them, just like us, that God can and will transform their lives and take what the enemy intended for harm and transform it for His Glory. It is our hope that the legacy of Hope and Grace Transitional Home for Women will be that reaching back to help those don’t stop with us, that those who have been helped by the transitional home will then reach back to help others sitting in the place they once sat. PURPOSE
I am not my past, my mistakes, my poor decisions. I am greater than my past!
“I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. 13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,[d] but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” – Phillipians 3:12-14

I got to learn more about Project Freda, a local non-profit headquartered in Manassas, on Friday afternoon.

Chairman Gillian Clissold explained that the group assists in providing mental health services to formerly incarcerated individuals, a worthwhile endeavor.

Great get together and wonderful food from Vera's Kitchen Desta
